In Israel they don’t think of Hanukah as a “huge” holiday. I think it is because it is so close to Christmas we have made it into a gift giving holiday. The gifts in Israel are given out at Rosh Hashanah. I know when I was there the malls were loaded with carts selling gifts, and people had packages galore in their arms. Just a little bit of information on gift-giving!
On a side note, last night I decided to bake (a very rare thing for me) at 10pm. I made a honey cake in bread pans. If it is good, I will share the recipe! I used a book given to me from my sister-in-law from Israel, so the recipes are a little bit different than our American cookbooks. Keep you posted.
